During this school year, 32 high school students and 19 junior high students will have taken Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) classes.  Courses include Culinary I, Culinary II, Child Development, Life Skills (personal finance, textiles, culinary and parenting), Adaptive Life Skills and 8th grade FCS which is an introductory, nine week course with units in personal finance, interpersonal relationships, textiles and culinary.  In addition, 28 students are members of FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America), the Career and Technical Student Organization associated with FCS. 

"During the current school year, eighteen culinary students completed the online program for ServSafe, a nationally recognized restaurant program in food safety.  The certificates earned are good for three years and will be an advantage when applying for work in restaurant/food establishments."
