Applied Science Updates

Below is an update from Kash Bouma's, an FHS junior, guitar project:

This week, I worked on shaping and sanding my headstock, and putting the holes in my fret board. When I made the design for my headstock I used the band saw to cut out the design that I wanted. I used 60 grit to start off the sanding on my headstock, and then I jumped up to 100 grit, then finally I went to 150 grit sand paper. After that I marked out when the center of my frets on my fret board, then I took it over to the press and learned how to drill the holes in my fret board. I learned how to drill slow and controlled so I don't drill through. I learned many things, and had a lot of fun learning these new techniques.
