Digital Awareness and Citizenship

Due to the evolving and growing concerns with cyber safety, the Fairfield School has secured national award winning speaker, Richard Guerry, for a couple informative and preventative 70-80min presentations next Tuesday, September 14th.

6-12 Student Presentation @ 2pm in the HS gym
Community Presentation for anyone 13+ @6pm in HS Gym

Richard represents IROC2 - Institute for Responsible Online Cellphone Communication and speaks to schools and communities all over the nation. Richard will address:
Intro to Public and Permanent / Having a Digital Consciousness and what it means
Cyber Cruelty and Bullying
Information to help us Avoid Exploitation
Safe Communication in Gaming
Responsible Status Updates (oversharing risks)
Removing the Social Privacy Myth Digital Tools are used for Sharing & Communication
- Don't look for ways to keep things private on tools for sharing
- Discuss how things we think are private can “get out”
The importance of Empathy in our digital decision making

This opportunity is a collaborative effort between Greenfield, Power, Augusta, Choteau, Dutton/Brady, Fort Benton, Highwood and Belt to provide our students and parents an educational resource to address the growing concerns for cyber safety and appropriate internet use.
