Alumni and Scholarship Announcement

Please submit required paperwork including proof of enrollment, full-time status, and GPA to Brenda Evans in the HS office.
Reapplications for eligible students are due by April 1st.

Due to the forecast of blowing and drifting snow expected on Monday, Feb. 24, we want to keep everyone informed of our emergency plans. We have spoken with the Teton County Road Department. If they can, they will get the plows out and clear the bus routes. The difficulty for them is that almost every road north and east of Fairfield is part of a bus route. They have done a great job for us so far this year, but they can't control the weather, either. If they can't get the roads plowed, bus routes will be canceled for Monday to ensure the safety of our drivers and students. We advise parents and guardians to make alternative arrangements for transportation. If you absolutely cannot get to school, please contact the office to let us know.
If we end up canceling bus routes, we will update this page and send out another mass text as soon as we make the decision. If you don't hear from us, it's business as usual on Monday.

On Tuesday, February 25, we will be administering the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) to all students in grades 7-12. We have done this for several years now, and it provides the school and the state with valuable data to help support our students. There is an informational letter that will be sent home with students that includes an optional "opt-out" form. All students will take the survey unless we have a signed copy of the letter. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mr. Wilson or Mrs. Tacke.

We are taking a group of elementary and JH students to the Teton County Spelling Bee in Power today. If the spelling bee runs long, we may need to delay bus routes slightly so students attending can still ride the bus home.

We are going to run our bus routes as much of our bus routes as possible this morning. Please be patient as our drivers will likely be later than their regular schedule. If you feel your road is unsafe or unpassable, please notify your driver to help us keep everyone safe. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Basketball Update: We are still on for our Senior night games against Rocky Boy tonight (Friday). On Saturday, we were able to add a C squad boys' game. That game will start at 11:30, and the rest of the games will roll after that one finishes. We will update here if anything changes.

We will still be running our bus routes as close to normal as possible today. Please be patient as our drivers may be a little behind their regular schedule. If you feel your road is unsafe or unpassable, please notify your driver to help us keep everyone safe. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

The JV Girls' Basketball game vs Choteau that was originally scheduled for 1/31 has been rescheduled to Monday, February 10th at 4:00.

Announcement
The regular school board meeting scheduled for Monday, February 10th has been postponed until Monday, February 17th.
Thank you,

Reminder: Dismissal today (Thursday) is at 2:30, and there is no school tomorrow for students. Enjoy the three-day weekend!

MT INNOVATIVE EDUCATIONAL TAX CREDIT
The MT portal for the MT Innovative Educational Tax Credit opens next Wednesday, January 15th at 10am. The Fairfield School District is registered and able to accept donations that result in a dollar for dollar MT State Tax Credit, to be applied to your 2025 taxes.
The amount available statewide has increased to 6million and the opportunity will end when that amount is reached collectively. You do not need to live in Fairfield, just a desire for your donation to go directly to the Fairfield school instead of state income tax.
We were able to register over 10 local Tax Credits last January and are prepared to do more this year.
The Fairfield School District has received and are ready to file several donations already. There is a limited amount of funding, but if you would like us to try to register a donation, please call the school right away to provide some basic information and the amount.

Denise Grant - School Business Clerk

The JH Ski Trip is still on for Wednesday, January 15. The bus will leave at 6:30 a.m. The kitchen crew will have breakfast available. If your child is eating breakfast at the school, please have them here by 6:10. Please make sure that your child is prepared for a day on the slopes with snow pants, gloves, a hat ( or even better, a helmet), goggles, etc. Lunch is available at Showdown for $10. We will make a quick stop in Great Falls on the way home for dinner. Please send money for dinner, or send your child with something to eat. If your child has any medication that they need to take, please let Mr. Wilson or one of the advisors know, and have your child give it to them for safekeeping.

We have been monitoring the road and wind conditions since it started blowing yesterday. We plan to send out our buses for the morning routes to pick up as many students as possible. If you know that your road is impassible until it gets plowed, please contact your driver to let them know. If the drivers do not feel comfortable going down your road, they will contact you to let you know. Pick-up times might be slightly later today than normal. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in keeping everyone safe.

JV Basketball in Browning is canceled for today. Due to icy road conditions and blowing and drifting snow, Browning Public Schools is ending school early today and canceling all games.
