Ms. Jenkins' Applied Science class is hard at work building guitars again this spring. Part of the assignment is for them to document and write about the process. The students wanted to publish some of their progress pictures and blog posts. I will be sharing them here from time to time as I receive them. The following is an excerpt from senior Myles Allen's blog post, "Week 6 This week I continued to sand the head stock of the guitar and shape it with 60 grit sandpaper which is a rougher grit. Once it was shaped and the deeper scratches removed from the wood I used a higher grit to make the sanding finer and worked all the way up to 220. I made sure to make the neck super smooth and I learned that it is much more efficient to use a lower grit to get out deep gouges than using a high grit. "

The school district values your input and we want our parents, staff, students and local businesses to help us make decisions that ensure we are providing a quality education in a safe and healthy environment. We sent the parent link through our school messaging system that should have come as a text message with a link to the applicable survey. If you did not receive a link and/or would like to provide input, please contact the school and we will make it available. Completed and Active Surveys Include: Parents Students: 5-8 & 9-12 Certified Staff Classified Staff School Board Business Partners This process is called an Community Needs Assessment (CNA) and is part of our Integrated Strategic Action Plan (ISAP). There are tables set up in the big gym lobby with various clothing items that have been left on the floor in both the boys' and girls' locker rooms over the course of the past several months. When there are items left on the floor, the custodial staff puts it in a big plastic trash can so that they can clean the floors. Sometimes students will get their things out of the trash cans, but most of the time they do not. When the trash cans get full, we bag up the items to make room for more. Every year, there are THOUSANDS of dollars worth of clothing items left lying around on the locker room floors that are never claimed. Feel free to stop by the school over the next few days if your child is missing something. Anything not claimed at the end of the day on Friday, March 15 will be donated to those in need.

We are still trying to assess the road conditions for bus routes tomorrow. I spoke to the Teton County road department. They are doing some plowing today and will be out early tomorrow to try to get as much of our routes done as possible. We plan to run as much of the routes as possible but may need to take alternate routes to get children picked up. If your road is not passable in the morning, please contact the driver to let them know. I will update everyone as soon as possible if anything changes overnight.

January 24, 2024 RE: Infinite Campus Fees and Parent Portal Parents, the portal is incorrectly showing “Due” amounts or “Prior Year Due” amounts. You do not owe these amounts. The only amount that you would owe is what you have selected and put in your “Cart”. We are working with Infinite Campus to correct this issue, so until then, be assured that you do not owe for any fees that you have not put in your Cart. Due to a programming issue within Infinite Campus, we have to set our fee schedules so that it hits All students, even though all fees are not applicable to all students. This is the issue we are working on with Infinite Campus to correct. We will keep you updated on our progress, thank you for understanding. Sincerely, Fairfield School District 21

Dear Fairfield Parents and Community, We were made aware this morning that school officials across the state received threatening messages. These messages were not targeted at Fairfield Schools or specific districts. We have been in contact with local, state, and federal law enforcement on this issue and will take measures as a precaution, but we do not believe there is any abnormal threat to our school. We have had the school facility searched by local law enforcement and at this time we are planning on having school as normal today with all necessary precautions in place.
